So the game is up then, Okita-dono. This one knew it was going to happen eventually...but he hadn't imagined it happening quite like it did. Apologies. This one would rather have told you himself.

Yes, this one was once Choushuu--a hitokiri working directly under Katsura Kogorou. It hasn't happened for you yet, but our swords actually crossed several times before...this one left the Revolution, directly after the Battle of Toba Fushimi. Since then, this one has refused to kill.

There is much more, of course, but this one would rather speak about it face-to-face. Unarmed.

Also, this one has a request. Please do not involve Sanosuke in any of this. He dislikes the Ishin Shishi as much as your young friend, Ichimura Tetsunosuke, does. They executed someone he held very dear.

Sano is a dear friend, and a good man. He should not have to suffer because of this one's actions.
